Biography
One of the best among legendary Muay Thai fighter, Samart Payakaroon held the title of "Baby Face Tiger". He accomplished both Muay Thai champion and world Jr. Featherweight boxing champion. His real name is Samart Tiptamai. He born on December 5th, 1962 in Chachoengsao Thailand. Samart started his first boxing carrier when he was 11th by the name "Samart Lookklongkate".

Samart start boxing as Muay Thai fighter in the area of his hometown (eastern part of Thailand) and gain both experience and reputation over hundred of fights. In 1979, he decided to make his fortune by go boxing in Bangkok at Lumpini and he quickly become the most successful fighter of Songchai Ratanasuban, famous Thai promoter.
Samart were respected as a skilled fighter with quick eye and intelligent movement. He is the most successful Muay Thai fighter at that time guarantee by his four times Lumpinee championship which are:
- Pin weight or mini flyweight (105 pounds) in 1980
- Junior flyweight (108 pounds) in 1980
- Junior bantamweight (115 pounds) in 1981
- Featherweight (116 pounds) in 1981
International Boxing Carrier
By the support and encouragement of his manager and promoter Songchai Ratanasuban, Samart Payakaroon became an international boxing fighter. After 11 fights of experiences, he manage to challenge his first super bantamweight (112 pounds) world champion of WBC name Jose Guadalupe Pintor Guzman, a Mexican Boxer. Samart were able to knock champion out in the fifth round and became Thailand's 10th world champion in 1986.
In his first championship defending, Samart was challenged by a Mexican Boxer name Juan Kid Meza (ex-champ of super bantamweight). He was able to knock Juan Kid Meza out at round 12. This match is one of the most beautiful fight because he was able to avoid over ten punches while has back was touching the rope and he use only single chance to counter his blow to Juan's chin and knock Juan out. He known to be one of few who had the courage to face the terror of the ring after this match.
Samart loose his first champion in his second defending fight in 1983 with Australian boxer name Jeff Fenech (3 times world champion in different weight class). He had trouble with his weight before the fight and were knocked out in round 4.
After losing a championship, Samart still go on with international boxing and was able to challenge Aeroid Rohas, featherweight champion from Venezuela, but he was defeated in round 8 and announced to end his boxing career since that day (1994).

Entertainment Carrier
Because his good looking face and friendly characteristic, Samart entered an entertainment business by becoming a singer under Grammy production and release an album name "Rock-ner-ner". His single name "Onsom" (low discipline in training) are well known over decade. He also became an actor and play many movies, series. One of the most successful movies in his life is "Kayee" which make him received a Thailand Golden Doll Award. After five years in entertainment business (1987-1992), Samart decided to go back to boxing ring. He keep go on boxing and end his boxing carrier in 1994.
